Hello WaveRunner Families!
Can you believe the swim season is almost over?
However, the best week of the season is ahead of us. The list of events this coming week includes the following:
1. Secret Swimmer week
2. National “Be Nice to your Coaches” week.
3. The food drive is going on – please bring as many cans goods as possible.
4. Our last dual meet is on Tuesday at home vs. Bent Tree/Spyglass Hill.
5. Thursday night we will be having a family swim night at the pool with lots of games, fun, food and frivolity. Meg Ludwig, Lici Hoover, and others are planning this event and will have information out soon.
6. Friday night at 6PM the WaveRunners have an additional practice session at the Rec Center for practicing starts off of the diving blocks and the diving wall at the deep end. This is always lots of fun and helps get the kids really fired up for the big meet.
7. Saturday July 16th is Champs at the Strongsville Rec Center. The WaveRunners warm-up time slot is from 8:00 to 8:20 AM in Lanes 1-3. Arrive early to secure a precious parking spot. More information on this event will be forthcoming.
8. Sunday night, July 17th we will be hosting the season ending banquet at the pool. Please see below for more information.
As a side note, we are still looking for volunteers to fill WaveRunners Board positions for next year. You don't have to volunteer for Team President. We have entry level positions available. John Henkels will not be returning next year so we are hoping to have a few leaders ready to step-up.
Secret Swimmer Week Is Upon Us!
If you are new to the team, this is something we do to get the team excited for Champs. On Friday July 8 we will have an envelope for each swimmer who turned in a Secret Swimmer form with a name and address of another swimmer on the team. Every day or night for the week before Champs (July 11-15), leave a small gift on their doorstep with a little note to get them psyched-up for Champs. On Friday, the day before Champs reveal yourself to your secret swimmer. Have fun and Good Luck!!!!

Swim Team Practice Information:
The first practice WaveRunner practice is on Tuesday, May 31.
5-8 yrs. from 6-7PM
9-14 yrs. from 7-8PM
15-18 anytime you can make it.
Remember, these practices are not mandatory and may be cancelled due to inclement weather. We will practice in light rain but of course not when lightning has been spotted.
Practice will be held when temperature is above 60 degrees. The pool will be warm but your swimmer may appreciate a nearby towel in chilly temps.
Parents: Please remember to allow our coaches to do their job without interruption. They do have a plan and are working with nearly 100 swimmers each day. The good news is that we have an outstanding veteran coaching staff.
Head Coach: Colton Kawiecki
Senior Assistant Coach: Brad Ludwig
Senior Assistant Coach: Tia Simpson
Senior Assistant Coach: Madison Kawiecki
Senior Assistant Coach: Michael Petras
The coaches will be delighted to visit with you after practice but please do not disturb them during practice times. Also, most of the coaches are available for indivdual one-on-one training for your swimmer. Please discuss fee rates in advance with them for individual off-hour coaching. The coaches are often available to do private coaching either at our pool or at the Rec Center but cannot provide this service during scheduled practice times.
