Westwood Farms WaveRunners Swim Team
Welcome Westwood Farms Families to the WWF WaveRunners Website!
Can you believe the 2012 swim season is here?
Welcome to the WaveRunners! The Westwood Farms swim team is a summer recreational activity for children in the development. We hope to improve each child’s swimming ability, foster team spirit, encourage competition, and most of all have FUN. Each child is responsible for his/her own personal behavior, and is expected to show respect for the coaches, fellow team members, officials and the opposing team.
Please use this website as your source for Waverunners Swimteam information, calendars of events, meet dates and locations, meet results, volunteer assignments, pictures, and more!

2012 Season Registration Information Registration Tuesday, March 27 6-8pm or Thursday, March 29, 6-8pm in the Clubhouse Eligibility Registration is open to any Westwood Farms resident ages 5 through 18 as of June 1, 2012. You must be in good standing with the Westwood Farms Homeowners Association. Although we welcome children learning to swim, please understand this is not a “learn to swim” program. However, our coaches love children and will be in the water teaching basic strokes to the little ones. We expect to have around 100 team members and [5] coaches. All swimmers must be able to propel themselves from one end of the pool to the other. Children 8 and under must be able to make one length of the pool and children 9 and above must be able to swim two lengths of the pool. Holding lane lines is okay and we’ve never had a swimmer fail this test. Parent Involvement Did you know it takes 50 parent volunteers to run a home swim meet and 20 to run an away meet? Your help is vital and required! Each family (you too Dads) must work FOUR (4) meets. Also, if your child(ren) swims in the Strongsville Swim League (SSL) Championship Meet on Saturday, July 21, each family MUST work at the meet. Registration will NOT be accepted without a completed parent commitment form. The meets are split into shifts to accommodate all parents. At registration, you must sign up for various swim meet jobs. Please note: Swimmers of parents that do not fulfill job commitments will not be allowed to compete in the meets. Registration Fees The 2012 WaveRunners registration fee is [$90 per swimmer under 15 years-old and $60 per swimmer 15-18 years-old.] All registration paperwork and fees will need to be received by a board member no later than 8pm on Thursdays March 29. If you are unable to attend either sign up you can hand deliver to any board member prior to March 29. Any registrations received after this date will be considered late and a $10 late fee will be charged. ALL FORMS and JOB ASSIGNMENTS (1. REGISTRATION, CONSENT AND RELEASE; 2. PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT; 3. PARENT JOB ASSIGMENT FORM; and 4. MEDICAL HISTROY FORM) MUST BE COMPLETED, RETURNED AND FEES RECEIVED BEFORE YOUR REGISTRATION IS COMPLETE. Swimsuits We will continue the same swimsuit style for the foreseeable future. The supplier promises this style will be permanently available. Suits will be available at registration for sizing, pricing and ordering information. All team members are expected to wear the team swimsuits at the meets. Please note that the swimsuits are made from a special racing fabric and are a bit delicate. We suggest the swimmers wear an alternate swimsuit for practice. WaveRunners colors are royal blue and black. Team t-shirts and sweatshirts also will be available for order at registration. Meet Attendance Every swimmer must notify coaches if they are NOT going to attend a particular meet. Notify them Friday morning before Tuesday meets and Tuesday morning before Thursday meets. This is to help the coaches set lineups and prevent mass changes and confusion at the meets.
